The government of the United States of America has put pressure on satellite TV providers Intelsat and Eutelsat to remove all radio and TV stations from the iranian IRIB company. This week the programs have vanished from the Eutelsat 13° east position which is popular in Europe.

I used to watch Press TV over the satellite Eutelsat Hotbird 13° east. Since this Monday the station is no longer available. The government of the United States of America has put pressure on the satellite TV providers Intelsat and Eutelsat to remove all radio and TV stations from the iranian IRIB company.

I know that the Iranian government is not a good example for the freedom of the press. It is important to insist all governments respect the freedom of the press.

But how should we approach governments like the one in Iran with the request to respect the freedom of the press, if in turn we remove not one, not two, but all of their programs from our satellites?
