PEACE! AN INTERNATIONAL CELEBRATION

On Friday, September 21, 2018 United for Human Rights joined with the Church of Scientology of Tampa to celebrate the possibility of a world of peace. This is a state held in hope by all mankind, but looking around the world one sees despotic rule and human trafficking, and even in the most “civilized” countries the opioid epidemic steals peace one individual and family at a time.

United for Human Rights works for the awareness and implementation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, as adopted by the United Nations in 1948. This milestone document declares that because we are, we have rights.

So we gathered people of different faiths, backgrounds and nationalities for a luncheon, some song and some talk, lead by an Evangelical Pastor and an active civic and business leader.
It was beautiful, and people stayed and chatted. “I like that everybody got together no matter what religion they have, and that they have a better purpose for a better world for everyone.”,and “It was very nice to get an update from all the people and what they are doing related to human rights, and I really liked that we can network with other people.” were among the comments heard afterwards.

“On the day when we can fully trust each other, there will be peace on earth.” sated L. Ron Hubbard, the Founder of the Church of Scientology. Thus the importance of a day when the whole world takes a breath, sees through differences and reconfirms a commitment to creating peace.
