“Independent voters are notoriously independent. They don’t like to organize themselves. It’s like herding cats.” – Ralph Nader
‘Get Bush out of office,’ seems to be at the top of most liberals’ to-do lists these days. Consequently, many recovering Nader 2000 supporters are wary, even angry, at the fact that the legendary consumer-rights advocate has announced another run at the presidency, this time under an Independent Party ticket rather than Green. Andrew Dieringer of Free Speech TV caught up Ralph Nader at a convention in New Hampshire on January 11th. In this video interview transcript (edited for clarity and length,) Nader talks about the independent swing vote, preventing 9/11 through regulation, and what it’s like to be called a spoiler candidate.
An argument that the CIA is active in both Haiti and Venezuela and a description of the techniques they use to overthrow governments. Also, the criteria they use to determine which governments need to be replaced.
"I am no longer ... feeling comfortable that I'm going to be able to read and process what I need in order to participate in writing a report about how it was that 19 men defeated every single defensive system the U.S. put up to kill 3,000 Americans on Sept. 11," said [9-11 Commisioner] Kerrey. -- Daily News, Feb. 26, 2004
9-11 has been "used" to justify 2 wars and a continual rollback in civil liberties . . . it is time for the peace & justice movement to stand with the brave 9-11 families who are fighting for the truth. What is Bush hiding about 9-11? We deserve to know before one more young man or woman is sent to war, before one more liberty is surrendered to the Patriot Act(s). www.911visibility.org www.septembereleventh.org

"When we remain silent about things that matter . . . our lives begin to end." -- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
[National 911visibility.org - covered by Kansas City Star; Long Island Press; University Press; local ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX News affiliates. Radio programs in the U.S. & Canada. 911 truth movement is on the move!!
911visibility.org's last event was co-sponsored by: Benedictine Sisters for Peace, PeaceWorks KC, American Friends Service Committee - KC, Greater KC Fair Trade Coalition, Instead of War Coalition - St. Louis, Wichita State Campus Greens, Kansas City Greens, Lawrence Area Peace Groups, Rolling Thunder Review - KC, All Souls Unitarian Peace & Justice, etc. Co-Sponsorship did not indicate a position on 9-11 widow, Ellen Mariani's case, but an endorsement of the people's right to hear about it.]
"Sept. 11th, 2001, was the most horrific and yet least examined act in recent U.S. history," said Bill Douglas. Douglas was a co-founder of the 911Visibility.org Project and helped organize Mariani's visit. "We have two wars based on 9-11 and a continual rollback of civil liberties," Douglas said. "We are being asked to give up our sons and daughters to wars because of 9-11." - KANSAS CITY STAR 2/23/04
Mariani refused the offer. "I'd rather eat dirt," she said. Bill Douglas, a member of the [911visibility.org] project, confirmed the sentiment. "Ellen Mariani could've taken the money and run," said Douglas. "The victims' families, after 9/11, were being trotted out in front of cameras after Sept. 11, because it would be advantageous to getting people geared for war. But, when they had serious questions, they couldn't get a mic. The sad truth about this event is that we shouldn't have to have it. We should be seeing all of this on CNN."
Following Douglas' introduction, Mariani took the stage with her colleague Burg. On stage in front a banner with red letters proclaiming 'the truth would set us free,' she was met with a standing ovation in the church. Mariani told her side of the story; she said that two out of the three lawyers that she consulted about her case sided with the defendants - the Bush administration. while Aristide in Haiti has been asked to step down by supposed thugs and armed rebels I argue that there is an inspiring revolution taking place right now in Haiti as the population and peasantry come together in a consolidated effort to oust the president.
As the result of a Latuffe cartoon, Indymedia Israel got in serious trouble with Israeli authorities. An article in today's Israeli newspaper Ha'aretz gives an account of what happened to the guy in charge of the site, how Israeli authorities operate. "The policemen asked us for all the IP addresses of surfers who had entered the site - not of one or two surfers, but all of them."
Negative portrayals of women in media and their discrimination on basis of gender discrimination in employment and advancement in the work place have today become serious issues requiring attention of human right activists and media professionals.
If the West engages in a profound and sincere dialogue with the Orient it will find practical and efficacious solutions to many of its problems such as the crisis of family, man-nature relationships, the crisis in ethics and values with a direct bearing on scientific research.
Here the Kashmir problem has been studied from diverse perspectives like the conversion of the Line of Control (LOC) in Kashmir into an International Border, holding a referendum in the midst of continuing cross-border terrorism, proxy war and trifurcation of Kashmir etc. It is argued that Kashmiriat—a happy synthesis of Saivism and Sufism, Islam and Hinduism, must be accorded a dignified space.
At a time when momentous changes are taking place at the global level. The entire approach of governance has to be geared to coping with all local and global contingencies having political, economic and social dimensions.
Indian society today is riven by the worst communalism and caste-oriented politics. Minoritism is as shortsighted a policy as majoritism. Any clash between the two will fracture the unity of India and will inflict lethal wounds on the Indian psyche which it will take long years to heal.
When the world is heading towards civilizational clashes there is strong need for dialogue of civilizations and inter-religious harmony in order to create the climate of understanding and peace in the world. Only through diologue the fraternal bonds shall be strengthened.
The article is a critique of America's Game Plan in Iraq and other oil rich countries in the region. It highlights dangers of unilateralism and premptive wars bypassing the global public opinon and normative authority of the united nations.
Like Ohio, the State of Maryland was disturbed by the potential for massive electronic voter fraud. The voters of that state were reassured when the state hired SAIC to monitor Diebold's system. SAIC's former CEO is Admiral Bill Owens. Owens served as a military aide to both Vice President Dick Cheney and former Defense Secretary Frank Carlucci, who now works with George H.W. Bush at the controversial Carlyle Group. Robert Gates, former CIA Director and close friend of the Bush family, also served on the SAIC Board.

WASHINGTON, DC - DontAmend.com announced today a second national day of rallies on May 17th in response to yesterday's call by President Bush for passage of a federal constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage. May 17th is the date the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court has said that same-sex marriage licences must begin to be issued in that state, and it is also the 50th anniversary of the date that "judicial activists" on the Supreme Court issued their famous Brown v. Board of Education ruling.
Matthew Tempest profiles boy mayor and peacenik Dennis Kucinich, who stands far to the left of the other Democratic hopefuls.
The rules are that the Democratic nomination requires over 2100 delegate votes. As of Feb. 2004, Kerry only has around 700. This is still an open race, and Kucinich has just gotten 30% in Hawaii, with his first set of delagates.
Come on, do you want Bones v. Bones '04, the millionaire 800 times over versus the millionaire several hundred times over?
Or do you want an actual election? With Kucinich v. Bush for the Presidency? His standings and policy is below.
Alan Greenspan announced the answer to our debt is to cut Social Security and Entitlement Programs. Obviously, Mr. Greenspan is in touch with the man and the woman on the street, in the ghetto, in the old-age home, in the nursing home, living hand to mouth, he proclaims the answer to our financial woes of an overly exuberant and financially-bankrupt administration is to cut from those who need it the most.
The German people of the late 1930s imagined themselves as brave...The German people were lured into WW2 not because they were brave, but because they were cowards who wanted to be seen as brave, and found that shooting long range weapons at people they could not see took less courage than standing up to Hitler... The American people imagine themselves as brave...assume they are safe from a tyrant, after all, they live in a Republic with strict laws regarding what the government can and, more importantly, cannot do. Their leader is a devoutly religious man.

"THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY ALONE PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE WILL SURELY LOSE TO MR. BUSH.,HOWEVER A DEMOCRA-\ TIC-INDEPENDENT TICKET OF MR. KUCINICH OR ELSE & MR. NADER WILL SURELY WIN THE ELECTION THIS YEAR WITH A COMBINED PLATFORM ISSUES FOR ALL"
As the Democratic primaries wind their way across the nation, Congressman Kucinich continues to make his voice heard despite the mainstream media silence regarding his campaign. Like Gore in 2000 vs. Bush, Kerry and Edwards continue to run on a platform of "kinda' like George W. Bushco, but better."
We are calling for a national campaign to take advantage of this election year to emphasize the power of direct action and to present direct democracy as a viable alternative to representation. This campaign will include literature distribution, postering and stickering, demonstrations, educational events, and other forms of community outreach, both in our own communities and around the Democratic and Republican National Conventions. It will culminate in a nationwide day of direct action on November 2, election day.
