Timoney 3 Acquitted On All Charges

After three years of waiting and two days of testimony, Camilo Vivieros, Darby Landy, and Eric Steinberg were acquitted of all charges stemming from the 2000 Republican National Convention. They came to be known as the Timoney 3 after the then-Philadelphia police chief that alleged they had assaulted him, and that has a long history of assaulting protesters.

John Timoney was the architect of the fascist and violent "Miami model of repression" unveiled at the FTAA protests in November, 2003. Trials for the mass arrests there continue; two Michigan IMC members go to court on Monday, April 12. Read more about John Timoney [ 1 | 2 | 3 ].

According to the Associated Press, the freshly-acquitted Viveiros said he was looking forward to peacefully demonstrating at the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York.
